12/17/2023 0 Comments Redshift seatpost weight![]() we both have 650 x 50mm options for the nasty bits, and they mitigate most of the above, but some races are 50/50 pavement and for that we use the less voluminous 700 x 38's, so this would be with that in mind. It’s worth taking a closer look at mountain bike seatpost suspension as well. Add in the optional inner spring (which comes in the box) and this will take a rider weight of up to 242 lbs / 110kg. 5 W/kilo more than I do, so it gives me more of a chance on the climbs. The Shockstop is the perfect suspension seatpost for heavy riders too. Curious if there is any actual performance difference, or if it's just weight (I don't mind weighing her down. I see that both of these are also available in a lighter (code for: More Expensive) version. But out back there are several solutions, the best of which appear to be the Redshift ShockStop and Cane Creek eeSilk.įor those that have used either, what are your opinions? If anyone has used both, that would be especially useful data. The front end could get tricky as she rides a 50mm stem, so the Redshift stem is out. I am looking at some suspension options for her (her current bike is a Bombtrack EXT C) so that when she is caught unaware, it doesn't unsettle her so much. If she drops back far enough to see, I drop her. ![]() This makes for a bit of a scary ride for her, as she can't see the terrain that's coming at her (I do call out, but sometimes even that is not enough warning). This makes for a bit of a symbiotic relationship (well for her at least ) as I end up towing her around the flat bits. She outclimbs me by a good bit, I outdescend her (although she is getting more and more skilled and confident and last year I saw a front wheel a couple times ) and can ride away from her on the flats if she is not solidly in my draft. ![]()
